Two Or More: Books For Africa

Join us for a heartwarming Valentine's Day service event at Books for Africa, in partnership with GoKart Labs and Read Indeed!

A simple name for an organization with a simple mission: Books For Africa collects, sorts, ships, and distributes books to students of all ages in Africa. Their goal: to end the book famine in Africa.

Access to an education is one of the only opportunities young people have to end the cycle of poverty and attain a better quality of life than previous generations. Books For Africa works to help children who otherwise would not attend school by supplying educational materials to reduce or eliminate education costs.

We have reserved TWO back-to-back book-packing sessions for this service event (with a hosted networking lunch in-between), so that we can include the highest number of volunteers, and make the biggest impact possible! See the agenda below for more details, and register for ONE of the two sessions, based on what best fits your calendar on Valentine's Day!

This Two Or More event is open to any Twin Cities professional who wants to help support a great cause and network with other business people who share volunteerism values. Please feel free to invite your colleagues, clients, and friends to join us!

Very special THANK YOU's to our friends at GoKart Labs for sponsoring lunch for our volunteers, and also to Read Indeed: a 501c3 nonprofit literacy organization and the vision of Maria Keller, a book-loving 17-year-old who wants to make the world a better place—one book at a time. Read Indeed’s mission is to promote literacy by collecting and gifting books to at-risk children. We're thrilled to have Read Indeed coming alongside this event as a supporting partner through a donation of books!

AGENDA

**Note TWO sessions to choose from. Please register for only ONE session to allow space for additional volunteers. Volunteers from both sessions are invited to the hosted networking lunch from 11:30 - Noon.**

• 9:30am - 11:30am - FIRST SESSION
• 11:30am - 12:00pm - COMPLIMENTARY LUNCH for all volunteers (Generously hosted by GoKart Labs)
• 12:00pm - 2:00pm - SECOND SESSION

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

Please arrive 10 minutes prior to the start time to check-in and receive instructions. Wear comfortable clothes and closed toed shoes. You may also wish to wear work gloves, as the books can be dusty.
